WICK ST BARTHOLOMEW is in the small village of Wick, which is the main settlement in the civil parish of Wick and Abson. It is approximately eight miles east of Bristol. The River Boyd flows through the village with its watermeadows across from the church. It is a grade 1 listed building dating from 1850. Construction began in 1845. Built in an Early English style by William Butterfield, the works were completed in 1850. It is built of limestone and has a slate roof. The west tower is in a Gothic style and has a pyramid stone- tiled roof. It has a nave, south porch, a chancel and a north vestry.
