STOCKPORT ST PETER CHURCH is situated in St Peter's Square in Stockport, Greater Manchester. It is a Georgian building built in 1768 and is built of brick. It has a nave, chancel and a three stage west tower, the top stage being a octagonal belfrey. The nave and tower were entirely redesigned and rebuilt in 1813. The windows are generally round-headed. Side galleries was added in 1838, but these were removed in 1888 when the chancel and sanctuary led to and enlargement of the church; an apse was also added at that time.
