| FARNINGHAM ST PETER & St PAUL'S CHURCH, was built in the 13th century (about 1240) by the monks of Christ Church, Canterbury. It was constructed with flint as a two-cell chancel and nave. In the 15th century the three-stage western tower was built. In 1830 battlements and a turrent were added to the original flat-topped tower and the east window was rebuilt. In 1871 the church was restored and a north porch and south-east chapel were added. In 1949 the choir was moved from the chancel to the nave. |
