HEATON NORRIS CHRIST CHURCH
is a redundant Anglican church building In Stockport, Greater Manchester. Only the tower and part of the walls of the aisles are still standing, but it continues to impress. It was built between 1844 and 1846 and cost about £7,000 to build.
It originally consisted of a nave with north and south aisles, north and south trancepts, a chancel and a west tower with a spire.. It was built in an Early English style using yellow sandstone and Welsh slate for the roof. It has a four-stage tower with tall pinnacles at the corners and a tall slender spire.
The fabric of the church was in very poor condition by the 1970's and, together with dry rot and the obvious expense of repairs, it was not possible to find an alternative use for it. In 1977 it was further damaged by fire and the decision was made to part demolish it, save for the tower and a few aisle walls. The foundation are still visible.
