Whitchurch, Herefordshire
Burgums of what family tree lived here or nearby?
| WHITCHURCH ST DUBRICIUS is near Symonds Yat East, on the bank of the Wye River. It is not too far from Ross on Wye. The foundations date from the 9th century and are, therefore, Saxon but the oldest parts of the rest of the church date from the 13th century, which is a largely Decorated Gothic style. The church was built with traditional local sandstone rubble and ashlar, while the roof slates are stone. The church, which has many tapestries and needlework, was restored in 1860. |
