BAGILLT ST MARY was built between 1837 and 1839 and consecrated on 18th July 1839. It was a chapel of ease within the parish of Holywell. It became a parish church in its' own right in May 1844. It has a large churchyard and was built in an early 19th century Gothic style. It was built of yellow sandstone with a slate roof. It has a west tower with battlements and shallow buttresses. The nave has three bays with broad crossing arches and boarded roof.
