Katherine "Kit" P. Burgum of Haverford, PA, age 69, died peacefully on April 15, 2012 after a long battle with breast cancer. Beloved wife of Peter R. Burgum and loving mother of Cris Burgum and Tracy Parker; sister of Pat Coughlin; also survived by grandchildren Alicia and Will Burgum and Katie and Colin Parker.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lee Galbraith and brother, Albert Jay Perry. Katherine was a devoted wife and mother to her husband of over 44 years and two children. She took meticulous care of her home and family and was involved in many activities with her children including swim and tennis chairperson for their sports teams while growing up. She had a love for horses and riding that she has passed on to her two grand-daughters. She was also an avid tennis player for many years and loved to read.
Along with dedication to family, she cared deeply for others as evidenced by her involvement with the Home Care Network Hospice of Main Line Health for 20 years. She also volunteered to help the blind at Royer Greaves as well as with the homeless.
Katherine was a member of St. Christopher's Church in Gladwyne. A memorial service wase held there on Saturday, June 9, 2012 to celebrate her life. The internment was private and at West Laurel Hill Cemetery.
