Evelyn (McAuliffe) Burgum born February 1, 1924, died peacefully with her family at her bedside. She served as a WAC in the United States Army during World War II. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, William C. Burgum, son Daniel Burgum, sister Marion Olesky and brothers James, Joseph and Edward McAuliffe.
Evelyn is survived by daughters Caren and her husband Kenneth Knowles, Presque Isle, Maine, Lori and her husband Rick Castellani, Newington, Connecticut, and son William Burgum and his wife Jennifer of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by grandchildren Jason and Jennifer Knowles, Presque Isle, Maine, Ricky and Ashley Castellani, Newington, Connecticut, Michael and K.T. Burgum, Glastonbury, Connecticut, and Will and Ava Burgum, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. As well as great-grandson, William Knowles, Presque Isle, Maine and sisters Margaret (Peggy) Chapman, Newington, Connecticut and Dorothy Aubin, Manchester, Connecticut.
A mass will be held at Corpus Christi Church in Wethersfield, Connecticut at 10 a.m. on Friday September 30, 2011 followed by graveside services with full military honors at Rose Hill Funeral.
