WASHBURN - Blanche G. Burgum, 85, Prairieview Nursing Home, Underwood, wife of a former North Dakota attorney general, died Feb 2, 1986, in the nursing home.
Services will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday at United Methodist Church, Washburn, with a burial in Riverview Cemetery, Washburn.
Blanche Gustafson was born June 11, 1900, in rural Washburn, where she grw up. She graduated from Washburn High School and a Fargo business college; then worked as a secretary and clerk. She married Leslie Burgum, Feb 24, 1926, in Fargo. They lived at Washburn, LaMoure, Larimore, Arthur and Jamestown, where he was a Methodist pastor. They then moved to fargo, where he was superintendent for the Methodist church. Next, they moved to Jamestown, where he was Stutsman County state's attorney. During the 1960s they moved to Bismarck and he was North dakota attorney general for eight years. They became residents of the nursing home in 1982. He died in 1984.
Survivors are one son, Thomas, Reston, Va., and three grandchildren.
Visitation begins at 11 am Tuesday at Goetz Funeral Home, Washburn.
