Leslie Burgum of Hackensack passed away on Friday February 15, 2013 at the age of 63. Having sustained a fall at the early age of 4 years, Leslie suffered from the effects of Epilepsy and other related diseases. Leslie was extremely intelligent, caring and unselfish. She enjoyed watching soap operas, Law & Order, and loved the humor of Burns & Allen.
She was the beloved daughter of her mom, Florence Burgum, who was her life-long caretaker and true companion. She will also be truly missed by her sister Kathy Burgum Fuller of Pa who has been made a better person for having had her as such a dear sister and friend. Kathy's predeceased husband, John Fuller (Leslie's brother-in law) had always shown his love for her by inventing and building items that would make her disabled life much easier.
Also, she will be sadly missed by Sandy Palermo of Westwood who was much more than a friend but like another sister to Leslie. She will be missed by her aunts Adeline Grossman of Hackensack, and Dolores Warhaftig of Lake Havasu City AZ, and cousins Chareise Wills of Oswego NY and Jacob Warhaftig of Atlanta GA. Leslie you will forever be loved and in our hearts.
A private funeral will be held Sunday at Beth El Cemetery in Paramus. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Epilepsy Foundation or the Lupus Foundation of America.
