Once known as Littledean Hall, Dean Hall claims to be one of the most haunted houses in England and also boasts to be the oldest house in the UK under constant occupation. It is thought to been a Saxon Hall, which was converted first into a church and then into a Norman hall, together with an undercroft and a crypt. It became a substantional medieval manor house, but was largely replaced with a Jacbean house in 1612.
